Know Your Stone
Diamond Reports & Verification
Check the documentation for the individual diamond you are buying. A report for a center stone does not automatically describe every stone or the finished piece.
Read the report
Review the issuing laboratory, report number, stone identity, measurements, and the characteristics recorded on that report. Report formats and the information provided can vary.
Verify with the laboratory
Use the issuing laboratory’s report lookup. Compare the online record with the report supplied for the item, rather than relying only on a logo in a product photograph.
Match it to the stone
Compare the description and measurements with the product. Where an inscription is recorded, ask how it can be checked. A report is not a guarantee of future resale value.
Official report lookups
The product listing should identify any included report. If the report number or coverage is unclear, contact us before placing your order.
